Steven’s “Bespoke” wedding dress collection is true to its name. Designed with the bride-to-be in mind, the label (which launched in 2015) was created to entirely personalize the bridal experience. The collection itself features garments that are decidedly high-fashion—the result of the designer’s couture-focused 40-year-long career. While “Bespoke” is defined by its unmatchable quality and craftsmanship, it’s just as noteworthy for its use of the unexpected. Created from surprising fabrics like knotted lace and vintage-inspired velvet, these garments are a delight to wear—and a festive, but unique choice for a bride on her wedding day.
“Bespoke” takes custom, fashion-forward bridal couture one step further, though, through a personalized design process. Dresses these one-of-a-kind can only be created one-on-one, which is exactly why Steven is passionate about meeting with his brides individually. These single appointments allow women to use the designer’s original creations as jumping-off points that can be added to, altered, or entirely redesigned to match her distinct vision. Following the original brainstorm, gowns are then created and fitted in-house, at Steven’s New York City atelier. At the end of the collaborative process, Steven’s brides’ wedding dresses are part of both the designer’s legacy and her own—and, by default, the bridal gown becomes one of her most prized possessions for life.
